Gravestone of Corporal James G. Wilkinson (1825-1864) in Old Settlers Cemetery. Wilkinson was a silversmith and jeweler working in Charlotte prior to the Civil War. He enlisted in the Confederate Army, 21st NC Regiment and was killed at the Battle of Plymouth (N.C.) on 18 April 1864. His brother Neill Wilkinson also died during the war. Elmwood is the oldest cemetery in Charlotte with graves from 1776 to 1884. It is located at the corner of 5th and Church Streets Physical Description: 8x10 black and white Publisher: Unknown
