Gravestone of Corporal James G. Wilkinson (1825-1864) in Old Settlers Cemetery. Wilkinson was a silversmith and jeweler working in Charlotte prior to the Civil War. He enlisted in the Confederate Army, 21st NC Regiment and was killed at the Battle of Plymouth (N.C.) on 18 April 1864. His brother Neill Wilkinson also died during the war.
